The Bluff III
In this photograph looking back toward Concord, the soldiers would have been moving past The Bluff (which is seen on the right). They would have been maneuvering a left turn toward the Fiske Homestead at this point.
During the colonial era open fields typified this portion of Massachusetts and not the many trees that are seen here now. It is safe to assume that the trees clinging to the sides of The Bluff were far fewer, and spaced further apart, than at present.
